Whether you live far or near, the Buckhannon-Upshur Camera Club, which meets next Thursday at 6:30 pm at the Senior Center, would like to invite you to become a "Friend of the Club", which is free and puts you on their email list to receive the club's monthly newsletter that is packed with pictures from our area that will surely bring back some fond memories. Choral Society Welcomes New Singers at Concert Rehearsals

Citizens Firefighter Academy

The Upshur County Firefighter's Association, in conjuction with the WV University Fire Service Extension, is providing anyone interested an opportunity to learn how our fire departments operate and what it takes to fight fires during the "Citizens Firefighter Academy"! Classes are held on Tuesday nights from 6 to 9 pm at different locations and the next class will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd, at the Adrian Volunteer Fire Department on Rt. 20 where you'll learn about fire death investigation & thermal injuries.

Create Buckhannon volunteers will be working over the next few weeks to finalize plans for this year's "Festival Fridays", a community gathering with live music, food, and crafts, which will be held from May 30th to September 12th, 2014.

Library Benefit Ramp Dinner

Come enjoy a culinary extravaganza prepared by the 88 Restaurant on Friday, May 2nd for the 20th Annual Upshur County Public Library Benefit Dinner from 5 to 8 pm. This year's menu includes stir friend ramps, ramp chowder, ramp quiche, mixed greens with bacon/ramp vinaigrette dressing, tavern ham, red roasted potatoes, corn bread and dinner rolls, apple dumplings and peach-blueberry cobbler. Tickets are $18 each and need to be purchased before April 29th by calling 304-473-4219, Ext. 14. All proceeds will benefit the Upshur County Public Library.
